Catherine Holtmann - PhD, Director of Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre

Dr. Catherine Holtmann is the Director of the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research (MMFC) and Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton. Her research program touches the areas of gender and religion, domestic violence, and immigrant women. She is the academic co-chair of the Violence Against Immigrant and Visible Minority Women and the Religion and Violence research teams at the MMFC. The teams use a collaborative, action-oriented approach to research. Catherine is a co-investigator with the Canadian Domestic Homicide Prevention Initiative with Vulnerable Populations as well as with the international project Violence against Women Migrants and Refugees: Analyzing Causes and Effective Policy Response.

Dr. Cathy Holtmann is open to supervising students for graduate research and UNB Arts Internships.
