Reid is going into her fifth and final year at UNB where she is completing concurrent Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Arts in English degrees. Although she is working toward a concentration in marine biology, she has also completed an Honours by thesis in freshwater biology. When she’s not busy studying, playing rugby for the UNB Reds, or fishing, Reid can often be found at the farmer’s market, the beach, a local coffee house, or at a brewery. As one of the Reaching Higher Conference Chairs, Reid is most excited to welcome delegates of all backgrounds with diverse goals and experiences to unite in the pursuit of knowledge and opportunity.

Siyum is going into his fourth and final year at UNB where he is hoping to complete his Honours in Kinesiology. After graduating, he hopes to pursue medicine, specifically in the field of orthopedics. During his free time, Siyum enjoys playing basketball, staying fit and making music. Alongside Reid, he is a Conference Chair for this year’s Reaching Higher, which plans to have exciting speakers who come from diverse academic backgrounds.

Nicole is going into her second year of Psychology at the University of New Brunswick. Her research interests lie in neuroscience, health, and medicine. She plans to go to either graduate school or medical school to pursue her passion for healthcare and research. Outside of academics, Nicole can be found at local coffee shops and restaurants trying out new food. She enjoys traveling and immersing herself in different cultures. As Sponsorship Director for this year’s Reaching Higher, she is excited to learn more about her future field from the speakers and connect with likeminded people.

Hannah is going into her fourth year of Medicinal Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics at the University of New Brunswick. While her primary research interests lie in chemistry and health care, she is also fascinated by mathematics and genetics. She hopes to pursue a career within the medical field to provide help and support for those in need, with a particular interest in neuroscience and geriatrics. Outside of school, Hannah enjoys volunteering with local nursing homes, playing basketball, and spending time with friends and family. As the conference’s Logistics Director, Hannah is excited to hear from the speakers and listen to their amazing presentations.

Jizel is going into her fourth and final year at UNB where she is completing her Honours in Economics and Finance. After her undergraduate degree, she plans on pursuing her masters in the field of developmental economics. Jizel is a big lover of sunset drives, coffee, fitness, and Taylor Swift. When she’s not studying or working as part of the Royal Canadian Navy Reserves, she plays and referees hockey, and tries her best to finish all the books in her ‘to-be-read' pile. She is a Sponsorship Director for the Reaching Higher Conference and is excited to see all the delegates have the opportunity to expand their knowledge base and professional network no matter their background, interests, or aspirations.

Subi is going into her third year at UNB completing a major in BioChemistry. She holds great interest in technology and medicine and is planning to pursue a medical doctorate after her undergraduate studies. Outside of school, Subi regularly volunteers within the community whether it be tutoring students or coaching badminton. She spends her free time maintaining her physical health at the gym, spending time with her friends and family, and occasionally binging a show or two on Netflix. As the Marketing Director for this year's conference Subi is eager to connect and work with like-minded individuals who share a similar passion for research and knowledge.

Makayla is in her fourth year studying Chemical Engineering with a minor in Biology at the University of New Brunswick. When Makayla is not studying, she enjoys reading, spending time outside with friends, or going to the gym. She can often be found in a barn with her horses or coaching horseback riding lessons. Makayla is one of the Speakers Directors for Reaching Higher and she is excited to connect with students from various backgrounds who are interested in research and hopes that this event is inspiring and informative for everyone.
