Reaching Higher Conference
Reaching Higher is aimed at the next generation of researchers. Students who attend this event will attend workshops and listen to keynote speakers - learning from accomplished research professionals who have all walked the path these students are interested in pursuing. Ultimately, delegates will be able to network with potential supervisors, gain insight into funding, and learn about leading-edge projects in Atlantic Canada. This event is a day-long conference focusing on connecting students and researchers from all areas of STEAM. You can contact us directly for more details or stay tuned for postings later in the year.
SCIspire
Are you interested in pursuing a career in research or want to find out more about groundbreaking science in Atlantic Canada? Then SCIspire is for you. SCIspire is an annual mini-conference focused on engaging students within STEM, specifically the sciences, kinesiology, or nursing, and facilitating knowledge translation in Atlantic Canada. During the event, both undergraduate and graduate students with research experience will present on their work and how they became involved. Furthermore, researchers from many fields of science will form an expert panel to answer your questions and elaborate on their own work.
ENGspire
From bridges and phones to drones and prosthetics, mostly everything around us has been influenced by engineers. If you want to find out how Atlantic Canada is contributing to the vast field of engineering research and how you can become involved come to ENGspire. At this event engineering professors from across Atlantic Canada will present on their journey on becoming researchers, their specific field, and will answer your questions. There will also be presentations from undergraduate and graduate students who have experience in engineering to give you insight on how to become involved. This year, the event will be a two-day virtual conference and will be hosted for two hours per day. If you are interested in attending or becoming involved then contact us directly or stay tuned for more details.
ARTspire
Psychology, Classics, Film Production, Neuroscience … the list is endless. This year we are introducing our first-ever ARTspire where we will bring together specialists, undergraduates, and graduate students with experience in social sciences research in a virtual event. At this conference, you will have the opportunity to learn about cutting-edge research, opportunities in Atlantic Canada, and how you can become involved. The format for ARTspire is the same as all ‘spire’ events with both speaker presentations and a panel.
General Meetings
Collaborating on articles, listening to guest speakers, and brainstorming ideas for events and initiatives are a few of the topics incorporated during these meetings. These monthly gatherings are a time for both the board of directors and members of the ASRJ to highlight important research in Atlantic Canada, discuss the inner workings of the ASRJ and learn from each other. The General Meetings will be posted on the events calendar later in the year and all members will receive an update with meeting times.
