The MMFC fosters and conducts collaborative, action-oriented research on family violence and violence against women and children. Research findings are used to inform changes to service delivery and policy, and are the basis of education and training programs.

Dr. Catherine Holtmann is the Director of the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research (MMFC) and Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton. Her research program touches the areas of gender and religion, domestic violence, and immigrant women.
