Jenna is in her final year of a Biology degree at the University of New Brunswick. She is passionate about research, particularly in the health field. She has explored this interest through research projects in the fields of pathology, epidemiology and developmental biology. When she’s not doing school work, you can find her hanging out with her ten roommates or going for a run. Jenna aspires to have a career in healthcare after she graduates.

Emily is currently studying Forestry with a minor in Chemistry at the University of New Brunswick. She hopes to pursue a career in conservation research or education. Emily is very passionate about environmental issues and working towards a greener future. She loves exploring beautiful NB, going to the gym and painting.

Madeleine is currently in her third year of Biology with a concentration in Cell Biology at the University of New Brunswick. Madeleine has worked as a research assistant in a microbiology lab at UNB where she used molecular techniques to study the stress response mechanisms and gene expression of a bacterium that fixes nitrogen for plants. In the future, Madeleine hopes to pursue a career in the medical-related field. When Madeleine is not studying or working in the lab she enjoys volunteering with Best Buddies, going for hikes, hanging out with friends and doing CrossFit!

Kelsi is currently in her second year of Psychology Neuroscience with a minor in Biology. Kelsi’s interests include physiological and neurological psychology. After her baccalaureate she wishes to go to medical school to pursue a career in treating people within the neurological and infectious disease fields. When Kelsi is not in class she can be found with her head buried deep in the books at the library, or at her extracurriculars which include: ASRJ executive and conference team, and the student union. In Kelsi’s free time she enjoys rewatching Greys Anatomy for the 18th time, and going to the local market with her friends and family.

Isaac is studying chemical engineering at the University of New Brunswick Fredericton. He takes a special interest in the fields of sports medicine, and intends to pursue that career through medical school. Outside of class, he can often be found at the gym, running track for UNB or finishing last minute assignments at the library. 

Jeremy is studying Biology at the University of New Brunswick - Fredericton. He has a passion for all realms of science, but predominantly health related as well as psychological science. When he is finished university he intends on applying for Medical School and pursuing a career as a Neurologist. In his free time, Jeremy likes to work on the ASRJ, invest in the stock market, and take photos whenever and wherever he can.

Daniel is currently at the University of New Brunswick majoring in Biology and minoring in Mathematics. His academic interests include medicine, population genetics, and biochemistry. After Daniel achieves his Bachelor Degree he’s hoping to pursuing a career in the healthcare field. Apart from drowning in textbooks he can be found at the gym, in the line at Tim Hortons or jamming out to the Tragically Hip!

Ashlyn is studying Chemical Engineering at the University of New Brunswick, and is specializing in Energy Conversion Engineering. Her interests include math, sustainable development, and promoting women in S.T.E.M. Ashlyn aims to study environmental law in an effort to promote environmentally responsible practices in Canada’s industrial fields. In her spare time, you can find Ashlyn studying at Head Hall, travelling the world, or seeking out the best cup of apple cider to be had.

Sam is currently studying at the University of New Brunswick. He completed his first two years studying medicinal chemistry but is now exploring the world of business with a particular interest in finance and economics. After his undergraduate degree, he would like to pursue a master’s in business administration and enter the world of investment banking. In his spare time, Sam can be found at the farmers market, the gym or exploring downtown Fredericton.

Lua is studying Biology at the University of New Brunswick Fredericton. She has a keen interest in global health and pediatric medicine. For her honours thesis, Lua is researching the effects of metformin and a low glucose diet on lung cancer cell proliferation. When she’s not counting cells in the lab, you can find her obsessively crying over “This is Us”, lip syncing songs on Snapchat, or planning her next trip.

Alex is currently studying Kinesiology at the University of New Brunswick. He loves learning about most things pertaining to how the human body works, with a specific interest in sports applications. In the future, Alex hopes to pursue a career as a physiotherapist in the the sports rehabilitation field. Outside of school, he spends his free time at the gym, catching up on his lackluster sleep schedule, or somewhere enjoying the great outdoors.

Ahmed is studying Chemistry at the University of New Brunswick. He is interested in applications of chemistry in the energy sector--including Lithium-ion batteries, electrode materials, secondary energy devices and grid storage, and recently had the opportunity to work in Lithium-ion battery research at Dalhousie University in the first ever Tesla-sponsored university research lab. After his undergraduate degree, he hopes to join the renewable energy sector then later pursue graduate work in the field.  

Entering his fourth year of Biology at the University of New Brunswick, Liam has broad scientific interests strongly geared to the overlap and interplay of academic disciplines and finds most of his excitement in the emerging field of astrobiology. He aspires to pursue his education and to remain in the research sciences. Liam is a long distance runner, rock climber and an utmost admirer of the works of James Baldwin.

Jaron Currie is a Biology Major, minoring in Psychology, at the University of New Brunswick. He finds much pleasure in studying Orthopaedics and Physiology due to my fascination with the complexity of the human body. Optimally, he would like to someday pursue a career in sports medicine. In his free time, he body builds, draws anatomical structures, and enjoys European football.

Jonathan is studying Biochemistry at the University of New Brunswick Fredericton. His academic endeavours and interests include all the major sciences, with a focus in healthcare. After completing his undergraduate degree, Jonathan wants to pursue a career in a medicinal field. During his summers, Jonathan has had the chance to work on research projects spanning from genetics, to diagnostic healthcare. Jonathan spends most of his time at the gym, or studying at your local library.

Srijain is studying Biology at the University of New Brunswick. He has a passion for oncology and neurological research and hopes to pursue medicine after his undergraduate degree. There is so much research in all areas of STEM that is going on currently in Atlantic Canada but unfortunately so few students are aware of this and even fewer know where to go to obtain this information. Srijain hopes that the ASRJ can be a viable and knowledgeable forum for scientific research for students and the broader public. In his spare time, Srijain can be found studying in the Science Library, listening to a classy podcast or finishing up chores at weird hours.

Chloe is entering her second year of studying Leadership with a minor in Public Policy at the University of New Brunswick - Renaissance College. With a passion for politics, she hopes to continue to law school following her degree and work with policy in the future. In her spare time, Chloe can be found binge watching Netflix documentaries and enjoying soup day at Renaissance College.

Hannah is studying Electrical Engineering at the University of New Brunswick. Fueling her interests in green technologies she is working with the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students, as part of a Working Group in Sustainability. In her future, she hopes to work with renewable and sustainable energy. In her free time, she can be found slacklining in the trees and biking around Fredericton.
