The Mitacs Accelerate program is meant for students interested in conducting research in both academic and industrial settings. The awards are open to students of all disciplines.
Award Information
Deadline: Rolling application (six-to eight - week peer review)
Value: Starts at $15000 and partner organization contributes $7500 to the project. Student receives stipend/salary starting at $10000.
Requirements:
Full-time student at a college/university in Canada
Open to all academic disciplines.
Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or international student over 18
Timelines: Students can do three four-month internships.
Application Process
What are you passionate about? Think about the kind of research you would be interested in and search for local labs/professors/institutions/companies conducting science in that field.
Whose research stands out to you? Contact a professor and partner organization who’s research you find interesting and inquire if they are open to summer internships. If they are, apply to a Mitacs Accelerate award together.
