(2/2) “Academia is a competitive industry. Without a metric to track progress, it’s difficult to measure how successful a researcher is. The rate of publication is one of those metrics, but it encourages quantity rather than quality, potentially stifling development.”
“The Atlantic Student Research Journal is different from traditional peer-review publishers. In contrast to other journals, the ASRJ does not publish academic research. Instead, our team of students write article with researchers about a research project, its significance, and the future of the field. Also varying from traditional news sources, the ASRJ employs a review process where our articles are peer-reviewed by experts in the field and/or team members of the featured project. In addition, student editors review each article for changes and suggestions until all of the article reviewers and authors are satisfied with the article.”
