Neha recently completed her Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Medical Sciences at Dalhousie University. She discovered her passion for Sociology and Indigenous health studies in her second year of undergrad after taking a course about Health and Society. Throughout her undergrad, she was also a student researcher in the Department of Pharmacology with a focus on Molecular Cardiology. Her honour’s thesis focused on studying the effect of mutations on the Natriuretic Peptide Receptor A; a receptor important in regulating cardiovascular and other physiological functions.
Neha has a growing interest in writing. Recently, she ranked second place in the 2021 Humanist Canada Student Essay Contest in the senior category. Outside of academics, she plays First Violin in the Chebucto Symphony Orchestra. She enjoys playing a variety of orchestral music from Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Dvořák.
Currently, Neha is working at a summer research internship in Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in medicine and become a practicing physician.
