Ashlyn Moody

Ashlyn Moody is a senior year Chemical Engineering student at the University of New Brunswick. Her academic areas of interest include alternative energy sources and nuclear energy. During her free time, Ashlyn is actively involved in the engineering undergraduate community, and enjoys travelling, reading, and baking.

Alexandre Banks

Alexandre is enrolled in Electrical Engineering and minoring in biology at the University of New Brunswick. In the future, he hopes to attend medical school and pursue a field in biomedical research. Hoping to enhance and expand knowledge in the field of medicine to improve the health care system. Alexandre enjoys collaborating with others to create positive societal change through involvement with service groups such as S.P.R.I.N.G. Furthermore, running, playing the fiddle, and talking with friends and family are some of his cherished personal endeavours.

Jackson Weir

Jackson is a second-year student with an unequivocal passion for science and discovery. Studying an Honours in Biology with a concentration in Cell and Molecular Biology, he is determined to contribute to humanity’s scientific body of knowledge and communicate that science to the public. As an aspiring health researcher, Jackson is focused on harnessing the human immune system to enhance current cancer treatments and develop new ones. Jackson’s drive to ignite the power of curiosity in others culminates with his roles on the Atlantic Student Research Journal, the Canada Wide Science Fair, and as an Educational Proctor. When he’s not in the classroom or the lab, Jackson never misses an opportunity to go salmon fishing, experience new cultures through travel, or play sports with his friends.

Kelsi Evans

Kelsi is currently in her second year of Psychology Neuroscience with a minor in Biology. Kelsi’s interests include physiological and neurological psychology. After her baccalaureate she wishes to go to medical school to pursue a career in treating people within the neurological and infectious disease fields. When Kelsi is not in class she can be found with her head buried deep in the books at the library, or at her extracurriculars which include: ASRJ executive and conference team, and the student union. In Kelsi’s free time she enjoys re-watching Greys Anatomy for the 18th time, and going to the local market with her friends and family.

Matt Sampson

Matthew Sampson is currently an undergraduate Electrical Engineering Student in his final year of studies. Originally from Antigonish Nova Scotia, he has researched primarily in the fields of biomedical engineering and network forensics during his degree. Matthew enjoys working with ambitious teams trying to solving meaningful and often difficult problems. In his free time Matthew can be found hanging with his friends or at the gym.

Claire Hermiston

Claire is in her final year of a Biology-Chemistry degree at the University of New Brunswick. She is passionate about societal issues such as sexual violence, and supports survivors through her volunteer work on the crisis support hotline provided by Sexual Violence New Brunswick. Currently, she is conducting a research project exploring the cardiovascular disease risk of men who are survivors of abuse or have perpetrated abuse. When she’s not at the library, you can find her having coffee downtown or hanging out with her ten roommates. In the future, Claire aspires to have a career in medicine.

Mackenzie Comeau

Mackenzie Comeau is a second year undergraduate Chemical Engineering Student with a minor in Mathematics at the University of New Brunswick. Mackenzie is passionate about increasing sustainability in industry through decreasing emissions and exploring innovative technologies. He is also interested in nuclear power, specifically in the development of small modular reactors. In his career, Mackenzie aspires to play a role in these evolving sectors. In his time outside of the classroom, he enjoys being involved within the student community, traveling, experiencing different cultures and hanging out with his friends.
